New Rug and Flowers.....Joyous Harbingers of Spring

Finally, a spare moment to blog in peace.

The ruffians have been here for the weekend again. My 7 year old nephew and the 6 and 9 year old nieces. They could test the patience of a saint and I am certainly no saint.

We dropped them off at granny's house this evening and there was a palpable sigh of relief when we arrived back home to calm and serenity. I love the hugs and the giggles but they sure are noisy. I did my best to entertain them by trying to kick a football and promptly falling over in the back garden. I am not sure that my right knee, or my dignity, are ever going to recover.

Today, Easter Sunday, was marked by the traditional "rolling" of the eggs. Not chocolate but painted hard-boiled. You find a grassy hill and then lob your egg down it. Once it is cracked, you can scoff it as part of the picnic. You do have to be careful where you pick your spot though. It is best to avoid the local dog-walker's area or too near a high cliff.

Now I am contemplating a quiet and serene day off tomorrow. The furthest I am going is to the compost heap at the bottom of the garden. I have my eye on an unruly evening primrose plant so I think I am going to practice my topiary skills. And we have new neighbours so I am going to spy on them to see if they look normal.

If you have not done so already, rush to your nearest cinema to see 300 and Sunshine. Totally fab. I am still reeling from the trifecta of British beefcake in 300. Not to mention the Irish totty in Sunshine.
Talking of totty, Doctor Who is back. My life is complete.

It must be Springtime. I can feel the sap rising, missus. Oo-errr.
