From The Dark Side Of The Street....

to the bright(er) side of the road.

We saw a sac. A sac!!!

Excuse me whilst I celebrate this, the furthest point we have ever gotten to. I know it is nothing and equally nothing is certain. But today there is a sac in my uterus.

For today, that will do.

More bloodletting was done, including another HCG and I have to go back to the clinic on Thursday. Guess what for??? Another HCG test to check appropriate doubling.

Feel free to roll your eyes with me and mutter savagely under your breath "Where were you last week when you were needed???

Aaah, the NHS. Slow to get going but once they have you in their grasp, it is like a juggernaut with 5 wheels.

Oh mrs madame pamplemousse, I can't tell you how utterly delighted I am to hear this, I was so fearful of another blasted ectopic. Hooray for a sac! Now let's have some lovely doubling, please.

I just jumped up and went WOOHOO real loud -- not such a good thing when you work in a library, but proper celebrating was needed [besides, who would shush me, *I* am the librarian ;-)]

This is brilliant news, simply brilliant. I can barely wait for those hcg numbers. Sending many, many doubling vibes your way.

A SAC!!!! Oh how wonderful. I know I might be getting ahead of myself and that a sac does not a baby make necessarily, but you can't get to a baby without a sac. And a sac means no ectopic.

Although why they are bothering to do betas now I don't get at all. Here they only care about betas UNTIL they see a sac. Not after.

When is the next ultrasound?

So freakin' happy for you. Just tell me when I can book my ticket...

I almost couldn't concentrate in my test this morning. I just wanted to say, "Um, excuse me, but I'm waiting for word from Ms. PM, and can we just postpone this exam nonsense?" I checked in about 5:45 am too. And then I came home to find this wonderful sacness news. Sac! Sac! What a glorious word. Love to you and the sac!

that's so wonderful! I second the idea to do away with the HCG levels now - try and convince them to do another scan in a week or 10 days. From experience, you can have gorgeous hcg numbers that falter..and falter again..but then the subsequent scan tells a different story [the 14 month old result of said faltering HCGs is`baa'ing along to Mickey Mouse on the tv, as we speak. err, as I type]. BEST of luck
